Our first math 9 Midterm is coming up on November 4th, and it will cover all three units we have completed to far. This is a major test worth 10% of the final grade for grade 9, so it is important to learn how to staudy for large test like this one! Here are some suggestions and resources for studying:
Practice Tests: In class I will be giving you 3 practice tests - one for each of the 3 units. These are made to give you a good idea of the kinds of questions to expect on the midterm. Make sure to work through these questions, use your notes for reference, ask a friend, or ask me for help!
Review Notes: Your notebooks are there for you to study from! Read over the notes, and use the foldables to quiz yourself (ask yourself a question before you open the flap to see the answer or example!). When doing a practice test or worksheet, refer back to your notes before you ask for help!
Concept Videos (thanks Ms. Davies!): Ms. Davies has made a series of Concept Videos for her classes, and she has allowed me to share them with you. If you are having trouble with a particular topic, or just want to hear it explained again (in probably a slightly different way), then these videos can be really helpful!
Note: The videos usually start with a minute or two of Ms. Davies talking about the homework questions from the textbook that her students are assigned - you can skip or ignore this part.
